How does it work?

In basic terms, water is heated through an energy efficient boiler system in your building, and then the warmed water is pumped throughout a network of pipes in your home. The heat is a comfortable heating method that when done properly is also a smarter, greener, more cost effective way to warm your building. Usually the piping system is installed in the floor joist system or inside the concrete slab.

Why do people like radiant floor heat?

As mentioned, it can be a more cost effective and also environmentally friendly way to heat your home. Additionally, because the piping system winds evenly all throughout the floor, it allows the heat to rise up evenly, creating a more calm and consistent warmth. When a room is heated by forced air, the warm air is powered through a duct system and enters the room in one or two vent locations as opposed to evenly throughout the room.
